How To Lose Weight And Keep It Off

by: AmirHealthGuru Sunday, November 15th, 2009

The weight loss industry is one of the most abused and commercialized industries around. People have been cashing in on the weight loss industry primarily because there are people who are gullible enough to believe the myths that money makers have created to make their products and services sell.

It is funny how a society that spends millions in junk food is more than willing to also spend millions just to find that perfect weight loss program. The harried life everybody is leading has paved the way for the proliferation of fast food joints that offer greasy and admittedly mouth-watering food that can easily add inches to any tummy.

Any person can get fat if he is living a sedentary lifestyle coupled with bouts of binging. Take the case of Corinne, a 30-year old graduate school student who has to sit down most part of the day studying. Corinne started to worry about her weight but she could not help but eat and eat unhealthy foods especially when studying. The more she feels pressured by her exams the more she has to binge.

The sad part is that she can never take time to exercise even for an hour. Her day is spent eating, studying and sitting down. Plus of course, the most part is spent worrying about what diet to implement to get her curves back.

Corrine and other people who lead unhealthy lifestyles lead the way in increasing the obesity statistics of the world. They know that there is a problem and yet they are seeking the wrong solution. It is not easy to lose weight and there are no special diet programs that can make a person lose weight permanently.

But there is a very simple formula to lose weight and keep the fat off. Any person who eats the right kind of food and who does regular exercise will definitely not get fat. Keeping to this routine can help a person keep the flab off permanently.

To eat right means to choose healthy food most the time. It does not mean that a person has to restrict his diet to non fat food all the time because the body needs the good cholesterol to regulate the liver.

If you want to achieve a healthy diet and keep off the fat for a long time if not permanently then eat the right kinds of food. Incorporate healthy snacks such as raw almonds, sunflower seeds, and fruit. Eat more vegetables than you do now, and eat as many of them raw as possible. Do not starve yourself because that can lead to nutrition imbalance and can even lead to binging.

It is also important to lead a healthy life by getting the proper exercise that you can do even considering your busy lifestyle. Taking a walk around the neighborhood is good not only for the body but also for the mind. If you are not accustomed to exercising, I recommend you start slowly. Being with first identifying what activities you enjoy. It may be walking in the park, playing tennis, or jogging. Make your activity as fun for you as possible. Start with 20 minutes a day, three times a week and build it up. You will find that you will feel better about yourself and be more productive overall.

That’s one of the hardest age to lose weight. But there is no problem if you know what to eat and exercise.

Eat healthily with lots of veggies, lean meat and complex carbs and be active , you will not have problem losing some weight.

I am on low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein and a hour brisk walk 5 times a week, and I have lost 31lbs when I was about your age, and gain better health. I am now maintaining my 108lbs for more than a year.

I lost 55 lbs. in 6 mo’s. I had just returned from Germany and Paris where I walked everywhere and still ate normal foods. When I got home I had lost 10 lbs.
Then I bought nothing but Lean Cuisine for dinner and a yogurt smoothie for breakfast and drank a lot of water. If I ate lunch at all it was fresh veggies.
I got down to 96 lbs and now my family is yelling at me to stop!!!
So I’ve gained back to 100 which is where I want to stay since I;m 5′ tall.
I really believe in Lean Cuisine, the food is fresh and very good. Don’t drink sodas and walk every chance you can.
It worked great for me Good luck.
